Yellow, Nice To Meet You.

Second day of painting started well! Today’s subject is actually my favourite. I knew I wanted to paint this when I started making an idea list of all the subject items that I can try and paint.

My first oil painting was actually a pair high heels. It’s still sitting in my home studio, a reminder of my early painting days.

This had turned out better than I expected. I did a light sketch beforehand due to its organic shape, which helped a lot. I had skipped this step on my first one. Colours and contrast are easier to distinguished thanks to good lighting from the reference photo. Not so great with the first as I took the photo indoor with poor lighting! TIP: Take your photos outside or near the window.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s session. I’ve included a painting video in my Instagram for both the paintings. Feel free to check it out @mama.mandym . I will only be posting finished paintings photo here.
